I have been a Christian Church, Disciples of Christ member since 1978. As I moved to different communities after my husband died I always looked for a Disciples of Christ church.

When I moved back to the Des Moines area, I felt led to Altoona Christian because I needed a loving, caring group, to connect to me and surround me with their understanding arms. When I walked into Altoona Christian Church, I felt welcomed right away and I've stayed. I am proud to be a member of a church that cares about the community and its members!

Thirty plus years ago I was shopping for a church where I could take my three children to learn about God and his creation. I stepped into Altoona Christian Church and found a loving, caring, accepting, and safe community that made a place for me and my children.

I became involved with different committees, families, church-sponsored functions, and the bell choir. I have learned that no matter what I do or who I am, I am always loved by Altoona Christian Church.
