Holding Your Wedding at Altoona
Christian Church
We at Altoona Christian Church want your wedding to be a meaningful
and joyful celebration. We also want your marriage to be fulfilling
as well as lasting. The church is here to always be in ministry
with you to help you as people of God.
As the pastor of this church I expect that as you prepare for the
details of the wedding service, you will also be prepared to work
with me and God in preparing your relationship for marriage. Marriage
is perhaps the most complex of human relationships. The process
of two people joining in a relationship which is intended to last
for a lifetime does involve great effort. I pledge myself to work
with you throughout six meetings to help you in the development
of your relationship and in building communication skills. We will
explore your relationship strengths and growth areas; learn skills
to resolve conflicts; gain understanding about your families-of-origin
and what that means to you as a couple; and develop personal, couple
and family goals.
By choosing a Christian church, you affirm the importance of God
in your life and your marriage. In choosing the church, you affirm
that you understand that marriage is a covenant of faith, and that
you are on a journey with God. In the Spirit of Christ, you are
making a statement that you want to build your marriage upon mutual
trust, respect and love for each other.
The Peace of God Be With You,
